E-way Bill FAQ
A quick guide to E-way bills for goods moved on Mioryde. This is general information, not tax advice — confirm specifics with your tax consultant.
What is an E-way bill?
An E-way bill is an electronic document generated on the GST E-way bill portal that must accompany the movement of goods above a value threshold. It carries details of the consignment, consignor, consignee and the vehicle.
When do I need one?
Generally when the value of the consignment exceeds ₹50,000. Several states have relaxed limits for movement within the state or city — thresholds and exemptions vary, so check the rules for your state before booking high-value goods.
Who generates it?
The consignor (sender) or consignee registered under GST normally generates Part A. Part B carries the vehicle number — you can update it with your assigned Mioryde vehicle's registration number, which is shown in the app once a driver partner is assigned.
How does Mioryde support E-way bills?
The app lets you attach the E-way bill number (EBN) to your booking so the driver partner can present it during checks. Your GST invoice for the trip is generated automatically after delivery.
What if goods travel without a required E-way bill?
Transport of eligible goods without a valid E-way bill can attract detention and penalties under GST law, which are the responsibility of the sender. Please ensure your documents are in order before handover — see our Terms of Service.
